Carmarthen, Wales.
September 2022.
‘SeedSisters’ came together again as a group to exhibit in Wales. We were invited to join another local group in their annual show at this heritage site. For this show I exhibited a one off unique piece, which combined deconstructed printed textile and print on paper. The piece was hung as a vertical scroll mirroring the size of the interior window framework of the windows; whilst the image itself referenced the wooded areas of the gardens. A seed finding its way across the skies to the garden and sitting in a collective.

I had the wonderful experience of being invited to exhibit at Taigh-Chearsabhagh in North Uist alongside Clee Clare Lee and Gina MacDonald in the show ‘Sameness and Disturbance’. The show was curated by Catriona McInness to coincide with the first British Association of Art Therapy Conference in the Outer Hebrides.
The conference and show bought together Artists and Arts Therapists to consider what it means to belong and yet be different.
My piece, a triptych entitled ‘The Space Between’ is to do with my experience of the space between two countries, two identities and two languages and the sense of not truly belonging in either place. What holds me is the knowledge and felt sense of shared elements, like the caress of the wind enveloping skin in the vast skies, looking out at the fathomless seas and traversing the wilderness of landscapes.
